Questions to the Minister for Heritage

Jonathan Morgan (Cardiff North): Will the Minister provide details of all Historic Buildings Grants provided by Cadw for the last five financial years, and can this information be broken down by category of project and type of building? (WAQ54554)

The Minister for Heritage (Alun Ffred Jones): Cadw offers grants for the repair and restoration of buildings of outstanding historic or architectural interest and for repairs to buildings in conservation areas. Grants are demand-led and a breakdown of offers by category of applicant for the last five financial years follows.

Cadw also offers grants for heritage regeneration schemes in historic towns. Details of such grant offers can be found in the Welsh Historic Environment Position Papers for 2006, 2007 and 2008, copies of which are in the Library or available on Cadw’s web site.
