Dirprwy Weinidog Sgiliau a Thechnoleg (Julie James):

The Welsh Government places great importance on the development of skilled graduates in Wales, and helping to create job opportunities that keep them in Wales or attract them back to Wales later in their careers.

Higher Education Institutions play an important role in supporting jobs and growth through higher-end skills development, engagement with business and exploiting opportunities such as Horizon 2020 and other European funds. Institutions must recognise the expectations of students and focus resources on the future employability of their students. This requires collaboration with careers services, schools, further educations providers and employers to ensure that all learners have opportunities for progression and benefit from improved employment prospects.

The North Wales Economic Ambition Board is the Regional Skills Partnership for North Wales. The Board has produced a Regional Employment and Skills Plan aligned to the economic priorities for the region.  The Board and its regional plan offer a more co-ordinated approach to addressing workforce development in North Wales, tackling youth unemployment and supporting graduate employment, and linking economic opportunities with the need to address economic inactivity in the region.

One clear example is the Economic Ambition Board's close working with Horizon and Lend Lease to promote specific graduate opportunities linked to Wylfa Newydd and Wrexham Prison in partnership with Bangor and Glyndwr Universities.  This has involved taking over the 'Shaping The Future' database in order to expand its content with the aim of registering all graduates. This means that a database of North Wales talent will be established which will enable graduates to access job opportunities across the region.

Jobs Growth Wales (JGW) is a pan Wales programme and is a key commitment in both the Welsh Government's 'Programme for Government' and the 'Skills Implementation Plan'. The programme is aimed at 'job ready' unemployed young people aged 16-24. It aims to provide a valuable work experience opportunity for a 6 month period paid at or above the National Minimum Wage for between 25 and 40 hours per week.

JGW continues to offer graduate level opportunities. To ensure that employers are aware that the programme continues to offer these opportunities, officials are working with service providers and communication teams to promote this aspect of the programme.

From the start of the JGW programme up until April 2015, the total number of opportunities created in North Wales (includes Private sector / Third sector / Graduate strand and Self employment strand) = 3,394

Of these 3.394 opportunities 127 were graduate opportunities.

Gweinidog Iechyd a Gwasanaethau Cymdeithasol (Mark Drakeford):   Prescription Cost Analysis (PCA) data detailing individual preparations for the years 2000 to 2014 is available on our website: http://gov.wales/statistics-and-research/prescriptions-dispensed-community/?lang=en Gluten free products are listed under BNF Chemical Name.

Prescription data is complex and may be misinterpreted. You are therefore advised to read the 'explanatory notes' document which provides information to support appropriate interpretation of the data; this document is available on the right hand side of the web page. This is especially important when dealing with food products such as Gluten Free Bread where a single prescription item will normally be for several loaves of bread and where there are a wide variety of types of bread which may be prescribed including different brands and sizes of loaf.
