The latest figures from NHS Blood and Transplant show that as of 17 January 2016, 160,288 people in Wales have chosen to opt-out. The number of people who have a registered view to be an organ donor stood at 1,087,055 at the same date.

Gweinidog Gwasanaethau Cyhoeddus (Leighton Andrews): I published the Draft Local Government (Wales) Bill and accompanying documents for public consultation on the Welsh Government internet consultation webpage alongside a press notice and written and oral statements. The consultation was highlighted, in accordance with the Local Government Partnership Scheme 2008, to key stakeholders including the Welsh Local Government Association; One Voice Wales and Society of Local Council Clerks; all Local Authorities; Community and Town Councils; Police & Crime Commissioners and Chief Constables; Fire and Rescue Authorities and Chief Fire Officers; National Park Authorities; Local Health Boards and NHS Trusts; Wales Council for Voluntary Action; Auditor General for Wales; Wales TUC; recognised Trade Unions; the Local Democracy and Boundary Commission for Wales; Independent Remuneration Panel; Chief Inspectors of Estyn, Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales and Healthcare Inspectorate Wales; Commissioners for Children, Welsh Language, Older People and Sustainable Futures; Public Services Ombudsman for Wales and Lord Lieutenants and High Sheriffs. All responses to the consultation will be considered.
